 Real-Time chat is an automatically updated when a chatter types a message and clicks the send button. Your screen will be automatically updated to show the current messages.

NOTE -  REAL-TIME CHAT MAY NOT WORK WITH ALL BROWSERS

 Edit the chat.properties file in the CustomChat folder. There are other settings you may also change in this file, it will most likely be obvious. If you make an error, the server will not run. In that case, copy the file named default.chat.properties to chat.properties and restart the server.

  All the files for the CustomChat Server live in one folder - the /customchat folder. No other files are placed on your machine, there are no DLL files or any other files related to the CustomChat server in the download. See the manual for the full file structure. To delete the server, simply delete the /customchat folder.

  If you have chosen to set up one room, it will appear in the Live Listing of rooms for whatever AREA you created the room in. If you have your own suite of rooms, it will appear in your customized Live List as localhost:6743/roomname

  Enter your room, with your proper handle and Password as stated above, then click on the "edit room" button at the top of the page.

 Your Website should include a note to tell people they may type any username and any password to enter a room. This note should appear on any page the guest will choose a room from.

 Simply Exit the room, close and re-open your browser. Select the room from the Live List, re-enter the same User Name and Password you used to first create the room when the pop up box appears, then you may enter the actual "room" with whatever Handle you want in the slot on the room entry page.

 No, that button is part of the server code and cannot use HTML. It can however say whatever you want it to say in plain text.

 Sounds and images are turned off by default. There are boxes just below the message box in the Standard room, that you have to un check to see images and hear sounds. You can find these check boxes in a Real Time room by clicking on Options.

 Yes. The maximum amount of images in one post is ten and the maximum number of sounds is one.

 Yes. Provided that the sounds or images are uploaded to a server somewhere on the internet. Just type in the URL to the sound or image file, using the HTML code for images <IMG SRC= or for sounds <EMBED SRC=. You cannot post an image or sound directly from your hard drive.

 Enter your room with the proper ADMIN User Name and Password as stated above, and click the button that says "Edit Room". You will be taken to the form where you first created the room and you may change any of the variables.

Make sure the image is still on the Web by opening another browser and typing in the URL to the image you want to use. If the image is still there, copy and paste the URL into The Creator™ form.
